Putting your favourite films, clips, home movies, music videos and TV shows onto your iPod has always been something of a mystery. A process that required all sorts of extra software and hardware, loads of patience and frequently, a degree in IT. That is why we were all the more happy when the iRecorder landed, like a little video-converting orphan, right on our doorstep. Like good citizens, we took it in and were flabbergasted at the speed at which it took ordinary Mpeg4s and put them straight onto our iPods. This fantastic gadget can record from a set-top box, cable TV box, analogue TV, satellite receiver, DVD/camcorder… as long as it has an RCA jack output you’re good to go. It sucks the video out of the TV, compresses it into an Mpeg4 file (3 hours of screen time takes up about 1GB) then places it securely into your iPod. You can even preview the movie on your TV or DVD player first, using the AV OUT socket. While the iRecorder will work with all standard iPods, 3rd generation nanos and classic iPods, it will also work with any other USB device that can play Mp4 files. The iRecorder will not record directly to an iPhone or an iPod touch, so you will need to copy the file to a separate USB drive then transfer the file to the device using iTunes. ![]() For further details or to buy this item, please click here. ![]() iRecorder
